The Ivory Coast President, His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara, has taken a notable decision in an official press release, signed by Masséré Touré-Koné, deputy secretary general of the presidency, announced that the head of state has, through Decree No. 2021-179 of March 29, 2021 appointing Mr. Aboudrahmane Cissé as Minister, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, terminated the latter’s functions.

This decision marks a turning point in the configuration of the government and the presidential administration.

President Ouattara expressed his gratitude to Mr. Aboudrahmane Cissé for his remarkable contribution to the proper functioning of the institution and his continued commitment to the service of the State. The official announcement, however, does not specify the reasons behind this presidential decision.

Aboudrahmane Cissé, for his part, published on his social accounts, a long message of thanks where he “expressed his thanks and his deep gratitude to the President of the Republic for the opportunity he gave him to contribute, alongside him, to the development of the country.

He continues by affirming his continued desire to always give the best of himself ” to live up to the expectations of President Alassane Ouattara and the Ivorian populations” .

It should be noted that since March 2021, he has assumed the role of secretary general of the presidency, taking over from Patrick Achi, designated Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire at that time. The repeal of his appointment comes a little more than a month before the dismissal of Patrick Achi, former Prime Minister.
