DCI detectives arrest John Mwangi after his wife was found dead, throat slit


Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based in Njoro have arrested a murder suspect John Mwangi Githaiga.

He was arrested in the Muthaguta area.

A statement from the DCI posted on Twitter said Mwangi was being sought for the cold-blooded of his wife, a 23-year-old Mercy Njeri.

On Tuesday, October 13, Mwangi is accused of slitting his victim’s throat with a sharp object before setting her hands and feet on fire.

He had disappeared after the gruesome murder.

During the arrest, detectives recovered a sword- believed to be the murder weapon- and kept it as an exhibit.
