Alli’s Spurs struggles
Though Tottenham have enjoyed a decent start to the campaign, securing a spot in the League Cup semi-finals and topping their Europa League group, there are nevertheless a number of players at the club who probably aren’t too happy as things stand.
The most obvious is, of course, Dele Alli, who has been afforded just 407 minutes of action across all competitions.
In turn, with the winter window fast approaching, and the European Championships set to take place next year, Alli would likely be open to a loan departure from north London, to ensure the best possible chance of landing a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Alli to dominate Tottenham’s winter window
PSG were one club linked with a move for the midfielder during the delayed summer window.
More recently, though, it has been claimed that Everton would be interested in taking Alli on loan in January.
The Toffees currently sit 3rd in the Premier League table, above Spurs, and could prove to be a suitable mid-season destination.
Whether or not the Lilywhites would be open to strengthening a direct rival, though, remains unclear.
What nevertheless looks certain to be on the cards, however, is a January window filled with speculation surrounding Alli.
As per a report from the Evening Standard on Monday, Tottenham’s January window is set to be dominated by their out-of-favour midfielder’s future.
It is added that Alli is widely expected to move on, with Jose Mourinho having made clear his preference for other options.
The Standard also talk up a potential move to PSG, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino primed to take over at the Parc des Princes imminently.
