Nigerian Instagram Celebrity, Ramon Abbass, popularly known as Hushpuppi, who was arrested and jailed for numerous cyber crimes, has shared details of his fraudulent career and how much he earned from it.
In a hand-written note which has surfaced online, Hushpuppi who flaunted exotic cars and mage mansions online claimed to have earned merely $300,000 from fraudulent activities.
The letter of repentance was addressed to the previous judge, Otis Wright, before his scheduled sentencing.
Abbas, who mentioned that his humble beginning was on the streets where he made money from selling footwear and clothing out of the trunk of his car, commended the FBI for doing an excellent job of protecting society from crooks like himself.
However, he added that contrary to popular opinion, he only earned up to $300,000 from fraud and pleaded for a sentence reduction of up to 65%.
The fraudster, who was extradited from Dubai and has been detained in a U.S. prison since June 2020, awaits his ultimate sentencing.
