Saint Von Colucci, a 22-year-old Canadian actor, has died after undergoing a series of cosmetic surgeries in a bid to look like Jimin, a member of the popular K-pop group BTS.
According to his publicist, Eric Blake, Von Colucci passed away on Sunday, April 23, at a hospital in South Korea due to complications from his most recent procedure.
Von Colucci had spent $220,000 on several surgeries, including a facelift, a nose job, an eye lift, an eyebrow lift, and a lip reduction, among others. He went under the knife on April 22 to remove jaw implants he had put in last November. Following the operation, he developed an infection and died hours later.
Blake said that Von Colucci “didn’t like” his “very square jawline and chin” and “was very insecure about his looks,” particularly his face. He struggled to get a job in South Korea because of his western looks, which led him to undergo the surgeries.
According to Blake, Von Colucci had filmed an eight-episode Korean drama series called “Pretty Lies,” in which he played Jimin. The show, natively titled “Cogimar,” was in production from June to December 2022 and is set to air on a major United States streaming service in October.
“He was very, very excited and worked really hard,” Blake said.
