Jared Joseph Leto, the renowned American actor and musician, made an unforgettable appearance at the 2023 Met Gala when he dressed up as a cat, which left many of the attendees confused about his identity.
The event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, had a dress code of “In honour of Karl,” which meant celebrities took inspiration from the late Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld.
Although Leto’s outfit was not a direct tribute to Lagerfeld, it was more of an homage to his beloved pet, Choupette. Before Leto removed his costume, he embraced Lizzo at the bottom of the red carpet, leaving her with a few questions about the feline guest.
After revealing himself from underneath a larger-than-life cat suit, Leto gave others on the carpet a laugh, including his WeCrashed co-star, Anne Hathaway. He later swapped his cat costume for a black cloaked look. The Tonight Show host Fallon even joined in on the fun and planted a kiss on the cat’s face as Leto continued to carry it around.
