America is now a new billionaire after a lottery player won a large sum of money in Friday night’s winning announcements.
The lottery winner, an Illinois resident, has become a billionaire worth $1.28 billion.
Following its announcement, Friday night’s unbelievable payout became the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot ever, with winning numbers of 13, 36, 45, 57, 67 and a Mega Ball of 14.
However, the Illinois lottery has yet to reveal the lucky winner’s identity or the location where the ticket was purchased.
The next drawing is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET, according to sources.
Over the last few weeks, the jackpot had been rising steadily because no one could beat the odds to win, which are 1 in 302,575,350.
In 2018, a single ticket buyer in South Carolina won the largest Mega Millions jackpot of $1.537 billion.
Meanwhile, the highest jackpot ever won in the United States was a $1.586 billion Powerball prize in 2016.
The 2016 jackpot was divided by winners in California, Florida, and Tennessee.
