“Red Table Talk,” the popular Facebook Watch series hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris, has been canceled.
According to reports, the show was the last remaining program to be cut as part of Meta’s decision to shut down its Facebook Watch original programs.
The Emmy award-winning series featured high-profile guests such as Sandra Bullock, Demi Moore, and Jordyn Woods, among others. Produced by Jada and Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios, “Red Table Talk” finished its original order.
Recent changes at Meta have included layoffs that affected more than 20,000 employees, leading to the departure of Head of Development and Programming Mina Lefevre.
As part of its shift in focus towards user-generated content, Facebook is moving away from producing originals. Meta is following in the footsteps of Google, which shut down its YouTube division.
The final episode of “Red Table Talk” premiered in December 2022, with the Smith family hosting a special reunion with the cast of “A Different World” to celebrate the show’s 35th anniversary. The episode featured exclusive behind-the-scenes stories, special memories, and a look back at favorite episodes.
