On Sunday, the demise of professional filmmaker, Wale Fanu, was announced. Fanu, the managing director of Cinekraft dies at the age of 72 years, after battling sickle cell.
Confirming the death of the filmmaker, Jide Bisayo, however, did not disclose the cause and when Fanu died but pointed out that Cinekraft partook in the advent of Nollywood.
He posted, “In the beginning, while Nollywood was still an embryo, there was CINEKRAFT. Cinekraft in no small way contributed to the birthing of the nascent industry.
“Behind Cinekraft administration and production management was one indefatigable, never tiring creative soul, my boss, Wale Fanu. Uncle Wales (as I like calling you), rest in the bosom of the Lord.
“A titan has gone home indeed!”
