Pastor Wilson Bugembe has paid a glowing tribute to his long-time friend and singer Rema Namakula.
Bugembe at a press conference, took time to share details of his special relationship, which started years ago.
He revealed that the Gutujja Singer was one of the people who helped him out of depression when he suffered a love heartbreak.
“There was a situation I was going through… there was a girl who dumped me, whom I thought I was ready to settle down with. I suffered depression, which is something I never thought about,” Bugembe recounted.
“But Rema took me aside and counselled me and she managed to revive my spirit.”
The 39-year-old gospel artist and mega-church pastor has remained single to date and fended off endless pressures from his fans and church members about getting married.
Meanwhile, Bugembe also praised Namakula for remaining relevant on the music scene for such a long time
“I thank you for sticking around and keeping the candle burning. We thank God for that because after 10 years in music, it is hard to remain relevant.”
Pastor Bugembe was speaking at a press conference where Namakula unveiled her 2024 concert.
The show dubbed Melodies of Love is slated for February 25th at the Kampala Sheraton.
Her friendship with Pastor Bugembe dates back to early 2010 when they both were in the nascent stages of their music career.
