Ghanaian and Kumawood actress Bernice Asare has opened up about the difficulties in her marriage to a pastor, expressing regret over the decision to wed him.
In an interview with Zionfelix, she explained that what once seemed like an ideal relationship ultimately became one of the biggest mistakes of her life.
The movie producer revealed that her husband’s deep commitment to his religious duties caused significant tension in their marriage, leaving her feeling emotionally neglected.
She shared instances where he would prioritize ministering to others, including praying for prostitutes, over spending time with her, which made her feel isolated and deprived of emotional support.
Reflecting on the early stages of their relationship, Bernice described how her husband had provided her with comfort during a time of emotional vulnerability following a previous heartbreak.
His calm demeanour and use of Bible verses drew her in, and their bond eventually led to marriage.
However, after they tied the knot, Bernice struggled with feelings of loneliness, as her husband was frequently occupied with his pastoral duties.
“Marrying a pastor was the biggest mistake of my life,” she admitted, shedding light on the emotional toll of being married to someone whose primary focus was on his ministry.
