The Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced controversial cross-dresser Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky to six months imprisonment without any option of fine for abusing the naira.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in her sentence, said the judgment will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira.

It would be recalled that Bobrisky was convicted by Justice Abimbola Awogboro last week Friday, April 5, 2024, for abusing and mutilating the naira notes following his arrest and arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The court had fixed the date for sentencing after Bobrisky pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of tampering with the N490,000 by spraying brought against him by EFCC.
