Popular Nigerian thespian, Deyemi Okanlawon challenged the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the Best Of Nollywood awards in Lokoja, Kogi State on Saturday, December 11, 2021 to institute a film fund in the state.
The Governor, his wife, his deputy, the Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Abdulkareem Asuku Moh’d Jamiu, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Arike Ayoade, amongst other dignitaries were present.
The actor was about to present two categories of awards when he challenged the Governor to institute a substantial film fund which will be easily accessible by filmmakers and encourage a new film hub in Kogi state
He said, “I challenge His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to institute a film funding that will be easily accessible by filmmakers and see how filmmakers can make ten films in Kogi with its beautiful landscapes and tourism potentials.”
