Ugandan Show Promoter Nobat Events has cancelled the concert he was organising for Shamim Mulerwa known as Omega 256.
The concert was scheduled for May 3 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
The exact reason for the cancellation remains unclear, but in an audio clip, Nobat, whose real name is Nobert Twizire, is heard expressing frustration and threatening to make Omega 256 an example.
This event was meant to be Omega 256’s debut concert.
However, Nobat is known for using stunts to promote his shows, leading many to remain sceptical about the situation.
In 2024, he promoted Ray G’s hugely successful concert on May 10 at the same venue.
Before the event, he threatened to cancel it and even suggested selling the venue to a church group planning a fellowship.
It’s worth noting that Omega 256’s concert was set for the same day as Truth 256’s show at the University Inn in Mbarara.
Without creative marketing, one of these events may struggle to attract attention. Omega 256’s concert faces the challenge of drawing a large crowd, as her venue is much bigger.
