Ugandan Singer, Catherine Kisasira is recovering steadily following a successful heart operation in the United States.
Kusasira was rushed into the theatre on Tuesday for the procedure, with her condition being described by her friends as very worrying.
Her handlers, however, communicated on her official social media pages, that the operation was successful although she was still feeling weak.
Kusasira had to undergo heart surgery to get rid of fat deposits around her heart.
Some of her colleagues said she’s been battling this condition for a long time although she decided to keep it away from the public.
At the time she flew to the United States about a fortnight ago, she was reportedly struggling to breathe.
Ugandan doctors warned her at one point, that she was risking a sudden death if she did not seek urgent medical attention.
Kusasira’s condition is known in medical terms as “pericardial fat,” or simply “fatty heart”
These visceral fats around the heart can cause inflammation, which in turn can lead to other health problems.
Medical experts say a fatty heart increases one’s risk of strokes, heart attacks and other heart conditions. The more pericardial fat you have, the more dangerous it becomes.
Some of the risk factors for this conduction include being overweight and living a sedentary lifestyle, with little to no body exercise.
