One of the legendary Afrobeats group, popularly known as Platainshun Boiz, identified as Blackface, has accused Nigerian songwriters of making immoral lyrics to the public.
The veteran singer made this known during an interview with The Honest Bunch podcast, stated that there’s an increasing lack of morality in Nigerian music.
He said Rema’s ‘Charm’ which he describes as a condescending song that displays an overt lack of morality.
According to him, artists create music from the heart and the content of their music highlights their state of mind. He also stated that the artists making this music don’t represent Nigeria in a good light as the songs fail to explore morally and socially relevant topics.
In the podcast, Blackface also restated that his music continues to be illegally sampled and interpolated by Afrobeats stars.
