American singer, Britney Spears, has recently spoken out about reconnecting with her mother, Lynne Spears, after a three-year separation.
In an Instagram post on Friday morning, May 26, Britney shared her thoughts on the visit, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to mend their relationship.
“My sweet mama showed up at my doorstep yesterday after 3 years… it’s been such a long time,” Britney wrote, accompanied by a childhood photo of herself. She continued, acknowledging that family dynamics often require effort to resolve, but emphasized the healing power of time. “With family, there’s always things that need to be worked out… but time heals all wounds!!! And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT!!! I love you so much!!!”
Adding a lighthearted touch, Britney playfully mentioned their shared activity. “Psss… I’m so blessed we can have coffee together after 14 years!!! Let’s go shopping afterwards!!!” she joyfully exclaimed. The visit reportedly lasted about 30 minutes and was attended by Britney’s husband, Sam Asghari.
This reunion marks a significant moment for Britney and Lynne, as they had not been in contact for an extended period.
In late 2022, Britney reached out publicly to her mother, extending an olive branch. “After no coffee for years… Mom, we can go have coffee together now!!! I’m treated as an equal… let’s have coffee and talk about it!!!” she expressed on Instagram in December.
This Instagram post follows a previous incident where Britney expressed her grievances about Lynne on social media a couple of months earlier. Subsequently, Lynne offered an apology via Instagram, acknowledging the pain Britney endured during her 13-year conservatorship.
