As confirmed online this evening, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori looks set for an imminent loan move to Everton.
The transfer activity on the blue half of Merseyside has of course picked up in a major way over the last couple of days.
First, on Saturday morning, Everton confirmed the high-profile addition of Allan.
The Brazilian midfielder made the move to Goodison Park from Serie A giants Napoli, in a deal worth a reported £25 million.
This was swiftly followed by the arrival of James Rodriguez last night.
In a 2nd midfield signing in the space of just 48 hours, the attack-minded Colombian linked up with Carlo Ancelotti’s outfit on the back of a difficult season at Real Madrid.
And, incredibly, just minutes ago, the Toffees’ rejuvenation in the middle of the park was completed, as a deal for Abdoulaye Doucoure was made official.
The Frenchman, who long stood as a standout performer at Watford, has penned a 3-year deal at Goodison, after Everton forked over a sum thought to be in the region of £25 million to the Hornets:

Chelsea stopper incoming
As outlined above, however, as the Toffees transfer chiefs ramp up their efforts to build a squad capable of competing for a European berth in the Premier League next season, attentions are now set to swiftly turn to defensive reinforcements.
Everton allowed a hefty 56 league goals in 2019/20, a major factor behind the club’s disappointing 12th-place finish.
As such, fresh faces, particularly at centre-half, have long been on the cards.
And, if the latest speculation stemming from the media this evening is to be believed, then one such target appears to have been identified.
Not only this, but a transfer in fact appears close to completion.
The player in question comes in the form of Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori.
The arrival of Thiago Silva at Stamford Bridge this summer was no doubt set to result in English stopper Tomori being pushed even further down Frank Lampard’s defensive pecking order in 2020/21.
The Londoners, though, are nevertheless believed to maintain faith in the abilities of their academy product in the long-term.
As such, the ideal solution for not only Chelsea, but also Everton, comes in the form of a loan.
Tomori is therefore expected to make the move to Goodison Park on a temporary basis for the season ahead, with negotiations ‘at an advanced stage’:

Interestingly, word that Tomori is inching towards an exit from southwest London comes fresh on the back of news that the English international’s jersey number, 29, has been taken by Chelsea’s latest signing, Kai Havertz:
Meanwhile, been told Kai Havertz asked to take Tomori’s No 29 shirt number on joining #CFC. It’s his favourite number having worn it at Bayer Leverkusen. Tomori was happy to oblige (and that was before talks over loan to #EFC stepped up).
