Not less than twenty-three students will receive first-class degrees on the 25th and 26th of February, as the University of Abuja (UniAbuja), holds its 25th convocation.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’allah, asserted this at the pre-convocation briefing of the university on Monday in Abuja.
He said 23 out of 8,769 students would graduate with a first class while 267 students would receive doctorate degrees at the ceremony out of which
He said in his words that, “A total of 2, 372 students will graduate with Masters in Sciences, Engineering and Agriculture, while 214 students will be awarded postgraduate Diplomas.”
The Vice-Chancellor disclosed that a total of 1052 students would be awarded with second-class upper degrees, while 3061 students would get second-class lower degrees, while 324 would receive third-class degrees.
Na’allah said the aim of the university remains competing with other institutions beyond Nigeria and to earn a world-class status.
He also re-emphasised the policy of the institution on zero-tolerance, indiscipline by either students or the staff.
He assured that his leadership would make a disparity in the varsity by accomplishing various programmes strived at educating the students, the institution and Nigeria.
“We have introduced some foreign languages for global citizenship in order to meet with the new world order; we are constructing a new senate building.
“We are building smart class rooms, constructing new roads, we have also introduced entrepreneurship courses to train students as successful graduates.”
