In a startling revelation, Tony Mwaba Kazadi, the Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has confessed to impregnating his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia, leading to a wave of controversy.
Kazadi candidly described the situation as a “workplace accident,” acknowledging his involvement with Namasia, despite both of them being married.
Namasia was appointed as the National Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education in the cabinet of Jean-michel Sama Lukonde on April 12, 2021.
While a local newspaper, The Street Journal, reported Namasia’s denial of the story on her Twitter page, stating that her private life deserves respect as guaranteed by the Congolese constitution, she cautioned against tarnishing her image.
She emphasized that such actions not only jeopardize her professional commitments but also cast a negative light on her married male colleagues and their families.
Namasia further expressed her disappointment in the attempts to smear her reputation, urging political detractors to focus on critiquing her opinions and political actions rather than engaging in character assassination.
With upcoming electoral contests in December, she emphasized the need for a fair and respectful political environment.
Lungila John, a journalist from the DRC, took to Twitter and disclosed the alleged affair between the two officials, highlighting that it resulted in the pregnancy of the deputy education minister.
The revelation of this controversial relationship has sparked significant debate and speculation within the DRC, with political implications that could impact the public perception of the individuals involved and the functioning of the education ministry.
