In a shocking incident, an Egyptian woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her son and eating parts of his body.
The woman, identified only as “Hana,” reportedly used a cleaver to cut her son’s body before cooking his head in a pot.
According to local media reports, Hana had been living alone with her son in the village of Abu Shalabi, Sharkia Governorate, since her separation from her husband three years ago. The motive behind the crime remains unknown.
While some sources claimed that Hana suffered from epilepsy and mental disorders, others confirmed the integrity of her mental health.
The accused has been reserved by the Egyptian Public Prosecution, pending forensic examination.
The remains of the child’s body have been handed over to the authorities, who will perform an autopsy and prepare a report on the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
