International Support Pours in for President Tinubu as Countries pledge Cooperation

In a show of solidarity, numerous countries have extended their support and goodwill to President Bola Tinubu, who was inaugurated as Nigeria’s 16th President.

During a ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, special envoys and heads of missions from various nations presented letters of support and conveyed their congratulations.

Prominent among the countries showing their support were the United Kingdom, United States, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Brazil, South Korea, Israel, Cape Verde, Somalia, and Nicaragua.

The United Kingdom’s new High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, personally handed over letters from British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, King Charles, and Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, expressing their warm wishes to President Tinubu.

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Marcia L. Fudge, led the United States delegation, which paid a courtesy visit to President Tinubu.

During their meeting, the delegation engaged in a brief bilateral discussion with the Nigerian President.

President Tinubu also held productive discussions with the South Korean delegation.

They presented a letter of invitation from South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, inviting President Tinubu to visit their country in the near future. The delegation expressed their desire to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and South Korea.

Additionally, a special envoy representing Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met with President Tinubu, offering support and extending a hand of fellowship.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a delegation that explored potential collaborations in the field of financial technology (fintech) with President Tinubu and his administration.

Furthermore, delegations from Brazil, Somalia, Cape Verde, and Nicaragua expressed their commitment to cooperating with Nigeria in various areas during their meetings with President Tinubu.

The outpouring of international support signifies the optimism and eagerness to foster strong alliances with Nigeria under President Tinubu’s leadership.

These diplomatic engagements highlight the potential for enhanced cooperation and the opportunity for Nigeria to strengthen its global relationships.
