The Arab Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People has stressed that Israel’s decision to recognize Morocco’s alleged sovereignty over Western Sahara will not affect the legitimacy of the struggle of the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
In a statement received by SPS, the Committee condemned the conspiracy, describing it as a farce that cannot have any legal impact and will not affect the legitimacy of the struggle of the Sahrawi people and its just cause recognized globally.
The Committee called on the UN Secretary-General and Security Council to condemn this recognition as a violation of international law, which considers and classifies the Sahrawi issue as a decolonization issue, so no country in the world has the right to recognize the Moroccan sovereignty over the territory of the Sahrawi Republic.
The Committee reiterated that this step is nothing but a blatant transaction that can in no way legitimize the occupation of the Sahrawi territories or infringe upon the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and independence. (SPS)
