The governor of Kastina state, Aminu Bello Masari, has disclosed that the state has currently received 304 kidnapped victims from the captivity of bandits.
The governor stated this on Thursday after he received another batch of 77 victims, women and children included along with an Army Sergeant.
He also noted that the process of rescuing the abducted victims is still an ongoing process which he said is being done “as quietly as we can to make sure that nobody is harmed and further kidnapping is stopped”
It was further explained that the victims were rescued by state efforts joined with the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Department of state security, and various security agencies in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, said many of the bandits are repenting from their criminal ways and are seeking peace in their enclaves.
He also said that continuous efforts are being made to ensure that all victims still in captivity are safely released without any obstacle.
