A Magistrate Court sitting in Ibusa, Delta State, has ordered the remand of a man at Ogwashi-uku correctional centre for allegedly raping his lover’s 17-year-old daughter and infecting her with HIV.
It was gathered that the suspect allegedly started sexually molesting the victim when she was 11 years old.
Marvin Mordi, a human right activist in charge of the case, alleged that the victim’s mother was aware of the sexual abuse but covered it because she didn’t want to lose her relationship.
Meanwhile, activist Israel Joe, who confirmed the incident, said the man also infected the victim’s mother with HIV.
