In a bid to ensure efficiency and more productivity, the Nasarawa State Revenue Internal Service (NSIRS) revealed that it adopted a new revenue collection strategy, resulting in the generation of N7.4 billion between January and June, this year.
The Chairman of NSIRS, Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu, made this known on Tuesday in Lafia when he appeared before the state House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation.
He told the committee that the agency has adopted an electronic revenue collection strategy, thereby blocking leakages.
“I want to commend the committee for supporting our activities to succeed. We have performed well in revenue generation as we have generated over N7.4 billion in six months. Iwant to assure you that we will do more by God’s grace,” Yakubu said.
Alhaji Mohammed Okpoku, the Vice Chairman of the committee, applauded the agency for its encouraging revenue performance and urged them to do more.
“We are happy with your revenue performance and we call on you to do more. There will be more development if the state has more money in its coffers,” he said.
