President Mohammed Shahabuddin, in a meeting held at Bangabhaban, directed the Bangladesh ambassador to Libya, Major General Abul Hasnat Muhammad Khairul Bashar, to focus on the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Libya.
The president’s press secretary, Md Joynal Abedin, informed BSS about the president’s instructions after the courtesy call made by the envoy to Libya.
During the meeting, the President urged the ambassador to shed light on various potential sectors, such as trade and investment, in Bangladesh to attract Libyan investors. Recognizing Libya as a promising destination for Bangladeshi manpower, the President encouraged the ambassador to explore opportunities for exporting manpower to Libya.
Emphasizing the significance of reciprocal visits at both public and private levels, President Shahabuddin underscored the need to strengthen the mutual relations between the two countries.
In attendance at the meeting were the concerned secretaries to the President, further fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and support.
The President’s call to prioritize the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates in Libya reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and protection of its citizens living abroad.
