Iraqi President Latif Rashid received an official invitation from his Somali counterpart, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to visit the country.
The invitation was conveyed by Somali Ambassador to Baghdad, Liban Sheikh Mahmood who was received by the Iraqi president yesterday.
According to the statement, the two officials discussed strengthening bilateral ties and joint cooperation between their respective countries in various fields.
Mohamud expressed his gratitude and greetings to Iraq and hoped for the reopening of the Iraqi embassy in Mogadishu, the statement noted, adding Rashid, in return, emphasized the importance of developing relations between the two countries, particularly in the agricultural and commercial sectors.
