After a long-standing power struggle between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) erupted into a conflict on April 15, both sides agreed to extend their truce for another 72 hours.

The Sudanese army released a statement on Sunday indicating their intention to prolong the ceasefire, although the RSF had initially intended to attack some sites.

The RSF spokesman announced the extension of the humanitarian truce for three more days, beginning from midnight on Sunday.

In response to various calls, the RSF hopes to facilitate the movement of citizens and residents, allowing them to reach safer areas and fulfill their needs.

The recent conflict between the army and the RSF has resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries. The ceasefire extension may provide much-needed relief for those affected by the violence.
