The Federal Ministry of Health has highlighted the pressing need for various medical supplies, including medications for life-threatening conditions like tumors, cancers, and emergencies, as well as anesthesia and painkillers.
Other urgently required supplies include medicines for heart disease, surgeries, organ transplants, blood transfusions, dialysis, laboratory equipment, and general medications.
To streamline operations, state warehouses have been strategically established in locations such as the Red Sea, the Nile River, and the Gezira.
The United Nations, along with Sudanese and international non-governmental organizations, is actively delivering much-needed assistance and protection across all 18 states of Sudan.
UNICEF has played a critical role by providing health, nutrition, water, and sanitation supplies, benefiting over 1.6 million children.
Additionally, they have delivered life-saving food aid to treat severely malnourished children.
The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) is supporting the displaced population in Sudan by setting up temporary shelters and assisting neighboring countries hosting Sudanese refugees.
Over the weekend, the World Health Organization delivered 10 tons of essential medicines and health supplies to Egypt, which will aid in treating 50,000 newly arrived individuals suffering from non-communicable diseases and acute malnutrition.
The Higher Committee for Monitoring the Humanitarian Situation in Sudan has announced the arrival of approximately 1962 tons of humanitarian aid to the northern and southern regions of Khartoum state.
While some logistical challenges have affected distribution in certain areas, the committee is working to address these issues.
Efforts are also underway to ensure access for diplomatic mission representatives and medical personnel to areas such as South Darfur and West Darfur.
