Tunisia’s President, Kais Saied dismissed 57 judges on Wednesday, June 1 due to their corrupt practices.

Saied accused the judges of corruption, complicity and protecting accused persons in terrorist cases.

Following the dissolution of the parliament, the president, who seized executive power last summer, began ruling by decree.

However, his opponents described this move as a coup.
