Fantasy Premier League 2020/21 Gameweek 4: Three in, three out

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 4 is set to get underway on Saturday the 3rd of October.

The first clash of the weekend pits Chelsea against Crystal Palace at 12:30 PM UK time.

As a result, your team must be locked in by 11 AM UK time on Saturday.

Gameweek 4 will end on Sunday the 4th, when Liverpool and Aston Villa face off.

Three in, including Southampton forward

Danny Ings (8.4)

The first player you should look to add to your FPL squad this game week is Danny Ings.

Ings was a steal on FPL last term, netting a staggering 22 goals across the 2019/20 season.

And with just three games gone of the current campaign, Ings looks set to once again challenge for the Golden Boot.

The Englishman has already netted three in three Premier League ties this season.

It is also worth noting that Southampton are taking on West Brom this game week.

The Baggies have had something of a nightmare return to the English top-flight, conceding 11 in just three ties already.

Patrick Bamford (5.8)

Our next pick looks set to be one of the great bargain buys of 2020/21.

Leeds United, since returning to the Premier League, have proved to be one of the league’s most entertaining sides this term.

And though they haven’t looked overly solid defensively, their attack has looked deadly – in particular, Patrick Bamford, who has already scored three and assisted two this season.

Leeds are taking on Manchester City in GW4, which may put you off picking the forward.

But it is worth noting that City do not have the most reliable defence and that Leeds were able to put three past Liverpool on the opening weekend.

Emiliano Martinez (4.6)

Despite featuring in just two of the three game weeks that have taken place so far, Emiliano Martinez is already the top keeper on FPL.

The Argentine, who recently joined from Arsenal, has helped transform Villa’s previously shaky backline into one of the best in the league.

Dean Smith’s side have kept clean sheets in their opening two ties, with Martinez also saving a penalty on his debut.

And at just 4.6, there doesn’t look to be a better budget keeper option available right now.

Three out, including Chelsea forward

Nick Pope (5.5)

Sticking with goalkeepers, Nick Pope was the man to have last term.

However, the Englishman has since received something of a price-hike in 2020/21.

And Burnley, who are usually defensively solid, are yet to keep a clean sheet this campaign – shipping five goals in two games.

As a result, you may be better served selling Pope for someone like the aforementioned Martinez.

Che Adams (5.9)

After a decent end to 2019/20, many people saw Che Adams as a potentially solid budget forward.

However, the Southampton man has, so far, managed to amass just eight points from three games – providing one assist and zero goals.

And with the likes of Patrick Bamford and Aleksandar Mitrovic doing much better for around the same price, you may be better served dumping Adams for one of that duo.

Timo Werner (9.4)

As can often be the case, foreign signings coming to the Premier League for the first time need something of an adaptation period.

And after three league games of 2020/21, it appears Timo Werner is still going through his process.

Granted, the German did score for Chelsea in the League Cup during the week and will most definitely come good at some point in the season.

But at 9.4, you can’t really afford to be waiting about for the former RB Leipzig hitman to start scoring on a more regular basis.

Especially with strikes such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Raul Jimenez, Danny Ings and Patrick Bamford all enjoying much better starts at a much lower price.
