Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has recently been drawn on his side’s January transfer plans.
Chelsea vs Man City
The weekend’s marquee Premier League tie is set to take place on Sunday afternoon.
Said clash will see Chelsea welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea started the weekend’s action down in 5th spot after picking up just one win in their last five league outings.
Man City, meanwhile, are in much better form, winning three and drawing two of their previous five games.
City would begin Saturday down in 8th. However, they have two games in hand on the majority of the sides around them and could move as high as 2nd should they win both.
Lampard on January window
Ahead of the City clash, Frank Lampard recently held his pre-match press conference.
During the presser Lampard discussed a number of topics, including injury news, which you can read more about here.
But the Chelsea boss was also drawn on his side’s January plans.
The Londoners have been linked with Declan Rice throughout this season.
But when speaking pre-City, Lampard seemed to suggest the club would be in for a quiet window, stating that though they may see if they can strengthen in the right way, Chelsea are not jumping up and down to do something:
I am not sure at the moment. I have ideas, we have a big squad, we have to see if that changes if there are opportunities for players that aren;t playing so much but that’ll be a conversation between the player and myself and then we will see if we can strengthen in the right way.
But we are not jumping up and down to do so at the moment, my focus this year is purely on work. It’s a long month.
