Gabriel dominates Arsenal’s September Player of the Month voting

Arsenal land Gabriel

Despite missing out on Champions League football and the money that it brings, Arsenal enjoyed a pretty productive transfer window.

Obviously, the deadline day addition of Thomas Partey is at the forefront of the minds of Gunners fans right now.

However, the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille earlier in the window should also be viewed as a major coup for Arsenal.

The 22-year-old is understood to have set the north Londoners back just over £23m, which, in today’s market, is a real steal for a quality centre-back – especially one who is left-footed

And though he has only made four appearances thus far for the club, quality is exactly what the Brazilian looks set to bring to Mikel Arteta’s backline.

Gabriel was handed his Arsenal debut on the opening weekend of the season vs Fulham.

The Gunners cruised that day, with Gabriel having managed to get his name on the scoresheet en route to a 3-0 victory.

Gabriel named Arsenal’s POTM for September

The stopper has since featured three more times for Arsenal, helping his new side to a further trio of wins.

He was not utilised at Anfield, meanwhile, when the Gunners fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool.

And now, after a solid start to life in England, Gabriel has managed to bag himself an award.

The accolade in question comes in the form of Arsenal’s September Player of the Month prize.

Gabriel beat Alexandre Lacazette and Hector Bellerin to land the award, notching a staggering 72 per cent of the vote:
