The 2021 holy month of Ramadan started on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, after the new moon of Ramadan was sighted in Volta and Eastern Regions of Ghana.
In his bid to support them in their ongoing fast, the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Benjamin Ayiku Narteh, donated some items to the Muslim communities within the constituency.
The items donated include 100 bags of rice, 30 boxes of cooking oil, 20 bags of sugar and 10 cartons of milk, among other things.
Presenting the items at a short ceremony organised on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Teshie Anumantu Maxxon Filling Station, the MP thanked the Muslims for “remaining steadfast and faithful to Allah.”
He charged them to pray for unity, love, and peace for the country.
He further appealed to the Muslim communities to train the youth to channel their energies into community development activities.
He also prayed for Allah to guard them against challenges they may face during their fasting.
Receiving the items on behalf of the residents who were present at the ceremony, the Teshie Chief Imam, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf Amartei thanked the MP and his executives for the kind gesture.
He said that the gesture “will go a long way to support them” and that they will always remember him in their prayers for the good work he is doing in the constituency.
He prayed for Allah to assist the MP to accomplish all his programs, policies and projects for the constituency.
