Giovani Lo Celso named in latest Argentina squad despite missing out for Tottenham vs Man United

Man United vs Tottenham

An extremely entertaining clash between Manchester United and Tottenham was played out a short time ago.

Spurs headed into the tie in the better form of the two sides. But with Jose Mourinho’s side having already played twice this week, United likely fancied their chances.

However, thanks to some simply diabolical defending, Spurs eventually came away with a staggering 6-1 victory.

The Lilywhites were 4-1 up at half-time, before Serge Aurier and Harry Kane added some gloss to the scoreline during the 2nd-half.

The result moved Spurs up to 5th in the Premier League table as we head into the international break – two points off Arsenal.

As for United, they are currently languishing down in 16th spot.

Lo Celso misses out vs Man United

As is customary, both sides revealed their starting line-ups an hour prior to kick-off on Sunday.

United, barring a change at centre-back, started with what is generally viewed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s best XI.

Tottenham, on the other hand, made a number of changes from their last league outing.

Perhaps the most noticeable omission from both their starting lineup and matchday squad, meanwhile, was Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentine has represented one of the Lilywhites’ standout performers this season, so to not even see him on the bench for such a big game appeared a bit odd.

Jose Mourinho did not provide an explanation for the midfielder’s omission on Sunday, but one would assume that it came as a result of some sort of fitness issue.

Despite his absence versus United, though, Lo Celso has, on Sunday evening, been called up for Argentina’s latest set of fixtures, set to take place next week:
