Inter’s Christian Eriksen reportedly ‘not a transfer priority’ for Arsenal

Eriksen linked with Arsenal

Christian Eriksen joined Inter Milan this past January.

The one-time Tottenham standout has since endured something of a rough patch in Italy.

Eriksen scored just once and provided two assists in Serie A last season, and very rarely completed 90 minutes.

The Dane has ensured a similarly tough start to 2020/21, failing to register a single goal contribution across seven outings.

And with the 28-year-old himself having recently suggested that he would be open to a January transfer, Eriksen has, in turn, inevitably been linked with a move elsewhere.

One potential destination touted in the media has been Arsenal, amid reports of a possible swap deal involving Granit Xhaka:

Arsenal not prioritising Eriksen

Of course, Eriksen joining Arsenal would mark an intriguing move, when considering his previous allegiance to Spurs.

Former Gunners forward Kevin Campbell recently revealed his opinion, though, that the midfielder would prove a ‘good addition’ for Arsenal, with his past experiences on the other half of north London of little importance:

“Eriksen played for the rivals but we all know the quality he possesses, that is for sure.

“It is not quite working out for him at Inter right now and I am sure he would be a good addition to Arsenal’s squad.

“I do not care if he played for Spurs – he is a superb player who can bring something to the table for Arsenal. “I would not mind it if we swapped Eriksen for Xhaka. The key is building and fattening that squad up to challenge and you can never have enough quality players.”

However, Campbell, and any other Arsenal fans keen on Eriksen for that matter, look set to be disappointed when it comes to their hopes of the Dane landing at the Emirates.

This is because, according to FCInterNews, as cited by Goal, Eriksen is not a transfer priority for Arsenal.
