Jose Mourinho has been discussing the importance of Tottenham’s upcoming clash with Brentford.
Tottenham vs Brentford
Tottenham are set to return to League Cup action on Tuesday evening.
After seeing off Stoke in the last round, the Lilywhites were drawn against another Championship side, Brentford, in the semi-finals.
The winners of said tie will face one of Manchester United or Manchester City in the final.
That clash, of course, will be pretty tough no matter who wins out of the Manchester outfits.
Both are in solid form of late and have managed to keep the League Cup in Manchester for the last five years with City winning it four times and United winning it once.

Mourinho on importance of Brentford tie
Before even thinking about the final though, Spurs need to get past Brentford.
And though Tottenham should be viewed as favourites for Tuesday’s game, it is the cup, and anything could happen.
One man who certainly appears to be taking this semi-final very seriously is Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese even went as far as to claim that it is his biggest match since taking charge of the north Londoners:
“Yes, I think so. In the perspective of the club chasing silverware for many years, I would say so,” Mourinho stated when asked if this is his biggest tie as Tottenham boss.
“Of course we always have important matches, last season we had a match at Palace that would give us participation in this season’s Europa League or not.
“The match against Leeds was very important as we went a few games without a victory in the Premier League but I would say a semi-final is always a very important match. The only one more important is a final.
“For me every competition is important. I won the the Carling Cup in my first season after a few months in England in 2004/05, so for me every competition is different and it doesn’t matter the club where you are or the ambitions you have. Every competition is important.”
New Jose Mourinho quotes for you on the different way Harry Winks and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg were playing on Saturday, how he wants Spurs to attack, why the Brentford match is the biggest he’s faced since he arrived at the club & some more fixture grumbles. https://t.co/CZsI3uTDlR
