Chelsea vs Liverpool

Premier League football is of course set to return to our screens on Saturday afternoon.

The weekend’s marquee Premier League tie comes in the form a clash between Chelsea and Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

With Liverpool winning the league last term and Chelsea spending big in the summer, many may be expecting both outfits to be in the title race this term.

As a result, both managers will no doubt be keen to get one over on their rivals early in the campaign.

And if the tie is anything like the last played out between these two heavyweights, we are most certainly in for a treat. Liverpool and Chelsea played out an enthralling 5-3 clash at Anfield back in July, with Frank Lampard and co. no doubt eager to exact their revenge at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Klopp provides Liverpool squad fitness update

Ahead of what should be an enthralling affair, Jurgen Klopp has provided a fitness update on his squad.

The German did so in his latest press conference, and the news delivered was fairly positive.

In fact, though Klopp admitted there were a few little things to deal with, Liverpool are OK ahead of the Chelsea game:

“Intense week. A few little things here and there but in the moment should be OK.

“Nobody is coming back or whatever, and the rest we have to see. So, still two days to go – two training sessions – but for the moment, we seem OK.”

In an even bigger boost for the Reds, it is understood that Liverpool completed Thiago’s paperwork in time for the Spaniard to feature vs Chelsea:
