A total of 177 people were on Sunday arrested for flouting COVID-19 protocols within Nairobi County.
Most of the violators were apprehended while gathering illegally as part of celebrating the Easter holiday.
Nairobi County Police Commander Augustine Nthumbi said some of the suspects were found locked in various pubs while others were unmasked in public spaces.
He said they were released on cash bail and will be arraigned in court on Tuesday.
The police chief further vowed that they will not drop the guard against enforcing the rules in the city which is currently being monitored by the State as far as the COVID-19 infection rate is concerned.
