Bitok bags Politrack’s Starleader Award for best-performing PS

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 29 – Prof Julius Bitok has been named the best-performing Principal Secretary in the 2024 Starleader Award by Politrack Africa.

Bitok, who previously served as the Immigration PS before Wednesday’s reshuffle by President William Ruto that saw him moved to Education, was awarded during an event in Nairobi on Friday evening.

The pollster ranked Energy PS Alex Wachira and Health PS Mary Muthoni in second and third place respectively.

Bitok, hailed for championing reforms in the issuance of passports and decretralization of civil registration services, attributed the award to teamwork and public trust.

“Being recognized by Politrack Africa as the Best Performing Principal Secretary for my tenure at Immigration and Citizen Services is truly humbling. This award reflects the dedication of the outstanding team I worked with and the trust of Kenyans who used our services,” he said.

He further assured Kenyans that in his new role as Education PS, he remains committed to implementing impactful reforms and enhancing service delivery for all learners and stakeholders.

The Politrack Africa Star Leaders Awards also honored several other public figures for their leadership and service.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was ranked as the best-performing legislator.

Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu was recognized as the best Governor overall.

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga claimed second place, while Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi Mohamed and Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru tied for third place.

Politrack named Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda the best-performing senator, followed by Migori Senator Eddie Oketch and Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka.

The pollster also recognized Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Environment, Geoffrey Mosiria, for his exemplary service.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary nominee Geofrey Ruku was ranked as the fourth-best MP during his tenure in Parliament.

The annual Politrack Africa Star Leaders Awards recognize and celebrate excellence in governance, public service, and leadership across various sectors in Kenya.
