Police in Migori County have launched a man hunt for a man in his 30s who is accused of assaulting a neighbour’s 5-year-old son at the Rejareja estate in Suna West Sub County.
Mr.Stephen Otieno, the victim’s father, claims that his son was assaulted by a neighbour who was chasing a group of children who were playing next to his house.
He said that according to his son’s report, one of his son’s playing mates accidentally threw a stone into the neighbour’s house.
Shortly after, the neighbour is said to have emerged from the house before assaulting the young boy, leaving him with serious injuries.
Mr.Otieno stated that they rushed the son to Migori level four hospital, where he was treated, and that the case was reported to Migori police station.
Diana Ross, a human rights activist, told radio Ramogi that she received a report from one of the human rights activists and when she arrived at the scene, she found the boy reeling in pain, and they rushed him to the hospital.
Diana stated that after rescuing the boy, she returned to the scene with the police so that the suspect could be apprehended, but he escaped.
