Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has been summoned to appear before the Employment and Labour Relations Court for failing to honour a directive to pay doctors their salaries and dues.
Justice Monica Mbaru ordered Ngilu to appear in court on October 14 alongside the county’s service board secretary, CEC for Health and Health Chief Officer.
The four will be required to show cause why they should not be punished for failing to honor the court orders
Kitui Doctors have not been paid their salaries and other dues since July 2021.
Through Lawyer Henry Kurauka, the Doctors’ Union, KMPDU urged the court to deny the respondents audience and applied for warrants of arrest for disobeying court orders.
