NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 30 — Detectives in Nairobi’s Starehe sub-county are tracking down a suspect accused of murdering a colleague at a carwash in Kiamaiko on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect, George Kuria, allegedly fatally stabbed 29-year-old John Olando at the Valley Bridge Carwash after Olando attempted to intervene in a domestic dispute involving Kuria and his former wife.

The incident reportedly escalated after Olando and other colleagues tried to defuse an argument, during which Kuria’s ex-wife was struck on the head with a stone. When Olando stepped in to mediate, Kuria allegedly drew a dagger and slashed his neck, according to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Olando was pronounced dead upon arrival at Huruma Nursing Hospital. The case was initially reported at Huruma Police Station and later referred to DCI agents in Starehe for further investigation.

Detectives are actively following leads to locate and apprehend Kuria, who remains at large and is believed to be carrying the murder weapon.
