Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney has extended the signing of leases and issuance of title deeds to shareholders of the Embakasi Ranching Company by a further three weeks.

An advertisement posted on the dailies indicated that the exercise, which was supposed to end this month, has been extended until October 16, 2020 to provide ample time for all landowners to get their title deeds.

In her address last week during the launch of another phase of the Nairobi Titling Programme to be conducted by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), CS Karoney attributed the slow pace of issuance of title deeds at the Ranching Company to invalid documentation and the adherence of Ministry of Health guidelines that limit the number of people to be served in a day.

The exercise, which is being conducted at the Embakasi Ranching Company offices in Ruai, was officially commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the KICC last month.
