Recent reports from England have seen Manchester United linked with RB Salzburg forward, Patson Daka.
Who is Patson Daka?
Daka, 21, has been plying his trade in Austria with Salzburg for the last three years.
The forward joined Salzburg after leaving his home country of Zambia.
Daka didn’t enjoy an overly impressive start to life with the Austrian giants, often lining out for their under-19 side.
However, the 2019/20 campaign saw the African cement himself as an integral member of Salzburg’s attack.
All told, Daka garnered 31 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Across these outings, the centre-forward managed to net an impressive 24 goals, and provide eight assists, as Salzburg cruised to their eighth-straight league title.
Daka also gained some valuable Champions League experience this past season, notching six appearances in the competition.
Man United linked with Daka
Now, on the back of by far and away his best season in European football, Daka appears to be attracting interest from a Premier League club.
The outfit in question, according to reports from England, are Manchester United.
As per the Sun, the Red Devils are weighing up a move for the 21-year-old, who is also being tracked by rivals Liverpool.
In terms of a potential fee for Daka, the Sun claim that he could set any suitor back upwards of £20m.
Such a fee would likely not prove much of an issue for a club of United’s stature, though it may come as something of a concern that Daka has zero experience in any of Europe’s top-five leagues to his name.
It is added that the youngster has just under four years remaining on his current Salzburg deal.
