Man United ‘sound out’ Mauricio Pochettino over possibility of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Man United struggling

To say Manchester United have had a rocky start to the 2020/21 would be something of an understatement.

The Red Devils began their campaign with a rather embarrassing 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

United would then go on to pick up back-to-back wins over Brighton in the Premier League and League Cup. But even in those victories, the Manchester powerhouse looked well off the pace.

Then, this past weekend, in one of the matches of the season so far, United completely collapsed when facing off with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly put on some shambolic displays as the Red Devils eventually succumbed to a staggering 6-1 defeat.

Solskjaer to Old Trafford

Following that defeat, Man United would sign four players on deadline day – including Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles.

And United fans will no doubt be hoping that the extra firepower will help them bounce back following the international break.

Should results continue to dip, though, it looks as though Man United have already begun to make contingency plans.

According to a recent report from the Daily Star, Man United have sounded out ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino over the possibility of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pochettino is said to be keen on the job, though United fans probably shouldn’t expect movement too soon as the Star also claim Ed Woodward is not prepared to sack OGS during the international break.
