Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has this weekend opened up on the efforts of fellow countryman Edinson Cavani in aiding his settling into life in England.
Reds talent
Gifted wide-man Pellistri was of course one of a number of deadline day arrivals at Old Trafford back in October.
The Uruguayan’s signing came as perhaps the most understated of the day, overshadowed by Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and big-money fellow youngster Amad Diallo.
The attacker’s early displays since settling in Manchester, though, have showcased exactly why United opted to splash out on his signature in the first place.
Pellistri possesses a host of impressive traits, combining quick feet, pace, balance and a keen eye for goal.
Such characteristics, in turn, have seen the South American quickly establish himself as a regular for the Red Devils’ U23s, despite having just turned 19.
Pellistri has even chipped in with a number of important goals, including strikes versus Southampton and in the Manchester derby versus City:

‘Very important for me’
As such, if Pellistri manages to continue along his current trajectory, it appears a safe bet that the teenage talent will be handed the chance to showcase his talents at senior level for United in the very near future.
And, as outlined above, the former Penarol man has today provided an insight into the efforts of one particular member of Ole Gunnar Solskaer’s first-team squad to ease his transition into the English game.
During an interview with MUTV, Pellistri was drawn on his experience of life in Manchester thus far.
And, after confirming that he is already ‘feeling at home’, the Uruguayan was keen to reveal his gratitude to ‘very nice person’ and fellow countryman Edinson Cavani:
‘I’m settled here. Thanks to my team-mates and obviously my family from Uruguay, I am now feeling at home in this country, which is all new to me.
‘Most of the South American team-mates are the ones who I am more close to but, obviously, I am all fine with everyone. Every team-mate here is very kind – in the first team, and also the Under-23s who I started playing with. I have met lots of guys who were very nice with me and that is very important.’
‘It’s been amazing to train with guys like Rashford, Pogba, Mata and Edi [Cavani], who is very close friends with me. It’s amazing for me because I watched them on TV and now I am practising with them.

‘The intensity, the high quality they have, it’s great for me to play with them and I improve a lot. All the time, I speak with Edi and he is a very nice person. He is always trying to be around me, giving me advice and everything that I need. He is there to help me and that is very important for me. I am very happy with that.’
‘I know he is one of the best players in the world, and one of the all-time best players from Uruguay, but he is also a very nice person.’
