Man United still working on ‘up to three more signings’ before transfer window closes

Despite a fairly quiet summer to date, a report from England on Monday has claimed Manchester United still have several more targets for the current transfer window.

Man United’s quiet window

Manchester United finished 33 points adrift of Premier League champions Liverpool last season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meanwhile, was fairly reluctant to make use of players outside of his main starting XI on a consistent basis, which eventually led to a number of key members of his squad looking majorly fatigued over the campaign’s run-in.

As a result, this summer is viewed as one in which United need to add some depth to Solskjaer’s squad, to back up a strong first-choice XI.

To this point, though, the Red Devils have made just one signing, in the form of Donny van de Beek, who arrived from Ajax last week.

Man United could sign three more players

Such little activity, especially when their close rivals such as Chelsea and Manchester City have been pretty active, may be a major source of concern to the United faithful.

However, as mentioned above, a report from the Manchester Evening News on Monday will no doubt provide Man United fans some hope as we enter the final month of the window.

As per the MEN:

Manchester United are still working on up to three more signings before the transfer window closes in four weeks.

In terms of the potential incomings, Borussia Dortmund standout Jadon Sancho is understood to still remain United’s priority target. However, the Red Devils are also reportedly open to signing a left-back, a centre-back and a centre forward.

Vitaliy Mykolenko and Sergio Reguilon are the left-backs believed to be of interest to the Manchester powerhouse.

And as we have previously covered, United appear to be interested in signing RB Leipzig centre-back, Dayot Upamecano.
