Who is Yusuf Demir?

Yusuf Demir is a product of Austrian outfit Rapid Vienna’s youth system.

The 17-year-old, despite his tender years, was handed his senior debut for the club during the 2019/20 campaign.

And Demir’s talents have since seen him go on to establish himself as a regular contributor for Rapid over the last couple of months.

To this point in the campaign, Demir has racked up 17 appearances across all competitions – including four in the Europa League, one of which came against Premier League outfit Arsenal.

Demir is an attacking midfielder by trade, but he is more than capable of playing on either flank, or occasionally as a centre-forward.

Man United & Real Madrid linked with Yusuf Demir

As the Austrian continues to showcase such genuine promise, in turn, it has come as little surprise to see Demir named as a target for some of Europe’s elite clubs.

And two such sides, according to reports, come in the form of Manchester United and Real Madrid.

As per Spanish outlet Defensa Central, United are the outfit currently ‘most attentive’ to Demir, though no offer is believed to have been made as of yet. A swoop for the Vienna starlet would certainly line up with the Red Devils’ trend of targeting younger stars of late, with Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri just two of the prodigious talents to have made the move to Old Trafford over recent months.

Real Madrid are also said to be interested in Demir, who Defensa Central claim is valued at around €10m.

The attacker’s current contract runs until the summer of 2022.
